Counsel on Discouragement

Have you ever found yourself, like the children of Israel, discouraged, cast down ? They of course, DID have some difficult situations to face.

For my part, I don't find myself in a desert with no water to drink, or finding some only to discover it is bitter; or having the same food to eat day after day with no variety; or being led through a "howling wilderness".

Sometimes, in times of trial, it helps to remeber what they went through , and to be reminded that we must be strong in the Lord. As the Apostle Paul warns us, in I Cor. 10, all those things which happened to the children of Israel were examples to us;  warnings regarding everything from fornication to murmuring. We are reminded that while temptation is common to all people, God is faithful to His own and will temper the suffering, making a way of escape. Christ said, "I am the way" - John 14:6.

As Hebrews 2:18 tells us, He Himself suffered temptation, so He is able to help us. He knows our infirmities, so we can come boldly to Him and obtain mercy and grace to help in time of need.
