This series responds to what is worth while, beautiful and wonderful, in contrast to the baseness which Isaiah 59:2-3,11-15 so well describes and which relates like a hand-mirror image to this fallen race now in the twentieth century. God is not fallen. As one of the essays indicates, THE MORALS OF GOD ARE NOT FOR SALE.

His Kingdom is as sure as ever and rapidly approaching its bloom, which is His and which He will institute; His love is as pure, His life as splendid and His ways as reliable. Isaiah 59:1 remains even in the world of the mushroom cloud:

Behold the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear.

Jesus Christ having come at the appointed time has His magnificent offer of clemency, mercy and pardon in the very midst of the muddle, murder and uproar that marks, with the new dominance of the Jews over their Jerusalem, His return. It is time to lift up our heads, for coming closer is the time of the very redemption of the body, when those who are His will return with Him to where we all belong who love Him and serve Him.

This book, like Predestination and Freewill, but in terms of specific episodes, examines or focuses on a specialist area. It is that of TWO KINGDOMS. One is of light, one of darkness; one of vaulting , vaunting ambition, one of humility, meekness, reality; one of love, one of hate; one of what endures impregnable in its beauty, the other a swamp of malodour and treachery.

The two textures reveal themselves like unfolding flowers viewed on time exposure camera: blooms of loveliness, flowers of evil. The pageantry of human majesty in politics, philosophy and pretension yields to the purity of that One King whose credentials were exposed for all at the Cross of Calvary: whose sovereignty predicts history, and whose Person will soon again grace our globe, the wonder of whose power in purity must now be shown, as was the work of His salvation in apparent weakness, but one stronger than disease and death: a work of love.

If you are not yet His, ponder these pages. We do not belong to ourselves, so that endless vapid visions of the mind of man seek to grasp us; we are made by the God who is love, whose will is well enough expressed in the plan of salvation culminating at the Cross of Jesus Christ and in His bodily resurrection. It is time to return to the Lord, before He returns to us.

Youth is a period of fire but sometimes fizz, of aspiration but sometimes desperation, of high ideals but at times despondent disasters: it can be stable and forthcoming or casual and off-beat. It is life in the making for adulthood. It also has its own place and grace - as does old age. It needs however to be at least slightly, understood. Paul gives us a fascinating, intriguing look into things as if with the vitality of a beginning, but with his abundant life, it is just possible he experienced in some measure the challenge later: only to overcome it as he did at the first - overcome? But that is another phase of it. Let's start at the beginning.

2. EVOLUTION AS RELIGION-

In violent contrast, is what Isaiah describes like this:

"None calls for justice, nor does any plead for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity; yes, truth fails; and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey: and the Lord saw it, and it displeased Him that there was no judgment."

In Isaiah 59:16 following you see the prophetic statement, often repeated in the NewTestament, of the action God plans to take.

Meanwhile, here on earth, let's look at these things with heaven-inspired eyes.
