The Way to Glory, Majesty and Goodness
As the end of human passions masquerading with aplomb, human will endlessly congratulating itself, human sovereignties constantly glorifying themselves, draws near, it is well to reflect.
There is much to consider and cover, as there arise with force, many particular issues which illustrate the direction, direness and devastation which comes with this stain on human glory, its love of being by itself, for itself, with additives to taste. To forget your basis while adding salt and pepper is as inane as eating a steak that is not there, but not forgetting the condiments.
With this, then, we seek to warn, to help, to encourage hope and to bring those who seek, to faith in the living God, leading to the inherent joy of truth, even amid the recklessness, fecklessness and heedless gallop off course, into the meaningless distance, of the human spirit.
In this, we move through issues from freedom of speech, the dumb priest in Luke, the nature of the Lord on earth and His deeds, to the imprecatory Psalms on the one hand, and on the other, to the lessons of biblical history especially in the two great reforming Kings, Hezekiah and Josiah. Appendices include the multicultural machination, needing careful oversight.

1) Published in October: THE GREAT DIVIDE of some 100,000 words with much on predestination and freewill, grace and goodness, reality, rearguards and salvation, on Hosea and Jeremiah, the approach of the end of the Age and the foreseen and foretold manner of it. An aspect arises here that may be of particular interest to some.
As to Israel, the Church, the land, the people, the politics, the nation, the salvation concerned with them, it is important to have total TEXTUAL FIDELITY. In fact that is the name one gives to this emphasis. Thus each textual area is considered in its own bounds and the matter sought out accurately on the basis of all the criteria present, including eventually, the type of literature, resonances between scriptures and resemblances elsewhere in the Bible, in topic, mode, setting and theme.
However, generalisations as if the particular context could be brushed aside in favour of general nations, without any warrant but desire, as in science, are not carelessly pursued, nor are unprobing assumptions made. We seek to keep to the strict type, in the case of each context, and if one is to blend with another, it is because there IS FOUND to be blending, not because it is desired or otherwise.
Rash assumptions of commonality or generality between different scriptures often cause in the Bible study as in science, much harm. There are parallels, contrasts, developments of particular divisions readily differentiated. They should not be coalesced without scriptural constraint, lest aspects be lost.
It is like making sure that potassium and sodium, in various salts, though with some family similarities, are never simply confused.
Precision is a pre-requisite in Bible study. If the study of His works requires it, how much more the study of His word of mankind!
Thus, to change the figure, it is like examining one facet of a crystal thoroughly to ascertain the nature of it, or of the text, in the application; and possible differentiation or or complementarity of other facets has to be found by observation, not assumption.
When the facets are duly considered, possible planning in patterns may be researched, and rest on evidence, not propensity.
In this way, we can avoid careless cubes - tp revert to the geometrical figure - when diversity of type may be found; and extravagant claims one way or another, that surpass the bonds of textual fidelity in each individual case, can be avoided. Then and then only is contextual fidelity to the point. Walk, run, but never be carried away with yourself, is the injunction. Much diversion and indeed division in churches has come from thrashing some aspect of biblical information to death, leaving others in a wasteland, or ignoring them.
The beautiful part is this, that when you DO insist on taking each scriptural presentation, individually, with full attention to its contribution and given to its rank and status, then the WHOLE forms a harmony so total, a clarity so brilliant and shines with a light so delicious that one can glorify the God who made His word so precise and yet profound, that it REPAYS all such endeavour! See on individual cases of needless division BAY OF RETRACTABLE ISLANDS, MISSION TO THE MAINLAND. The case of Israel is only one example of this need.

This volume, was published in August, and now we can look forward to the Australian Spring, just as the divine and spiritual Spring likewise draws nearer, when the earth will be covered with the knowledge of the glory of God as the waters cover the sea (Habakkuk 2:14, cf. Isaiah 11:9-10). Naturally, the nature of man and the curse on this world being cumulatively apparent (Romans 1 and 5, with 8), as the seed deteriorates and the mind is the more befouled in its cultural captions and captivities, there is a coming confrontation (Revelation 19:19).
Mercifully, the Lord plans to take out His family before its height (Matthew 24:35ff., I Thessalonians 4), a thing as unwelcome to worldlings as was the flood to those in Noah's day. However, in the ark of timber those then fared better, as those in the Spiritual Ark of Christ now will do, when He comes to collect (I Peter 3:21ff.).
Therefore we seek, more than a happy Spring, a holy one, and a spiritually blessed one for those who seek Him, where He may be found, in Jesus Christ, the Just One and the only Saviour from the sin which spares none, exacts on all, and may be set on Him (Isaiah 53:6).

In any romance, there are likely to be moments of revelation, understanding, intense empathy, that rise like the rocky cliffs by the shore, filled with significance. Like dawn and sunset, they tie together much lustre, together with light.
The Lord loves His people, and would have all come to reconciliation with Himself. Despite numerous faulty statements by some theologians over time, this is the case. How does one know ? It is because it is so written in the Bible, so clearly that no one has ever provided a rebuttal, in Colossians 1:19ff.. It PLEASED the Father, having made peace through the blood of the cross, to reconcile ALL THINGS, yes whether in heaven or on earth, to Himself. It not some secondary reconciliation; it is not some segment in heaven or on earth, but all of both.
This is the statement. Who daring to use the name of theologian can dare contravert what God says about His own heart! Indeed, even if it were possible here, which is assuredly not the case, there are a large number of similar statements such as I Timothy 2, Ezekiel 33:11, Luke 19:42ff., and tender appeals which would scarcely be real if for inscrutable reasons God did not really WANT all to be reconciled to Himself with an ardour and intensity, using such terms as "AS I LIVE," as He put it in Ezekiel, and exhibiting such lamentations at what did NOT occur earlier in Israel, as found in Isaiah 48:16ff., which swells like an ocean wave that surmounts all resistance: but a godly and a blessed one, constructive and not destructive.
He is sovereign, but AS sovereign He is an inimitable lover, and the scope even to the summum bonum of salvation, is set for one as for all; though the attainment is indeed limited, and the way is too narrow for many a foot (Matthew 7:15ff.).
HENCE there is something of which human romance is merely an expression, based on the same love, however much at certain times it may be distorted by human sin. ONE and one party alone is the effectual cause, at the ultimate in the foreknowledge of God and hence in reality, for exclusion from God and that is each person involved in such negation (John 3:19). THAT is the criterion God gives in accounting for loss in the presence of such ardent love as He exhibits in John 3:16, a love which came with the scope that the world be saved, and not judged.
With God there is no
distortion, but great restraint, for the purity of love is not the seizure of
force, and those who love learn! Yet the divine love is there, inimitable,
inerodable, indomitable, but unwilling to ruin its own reality by mere
surreptitious grabbing.

The bad theology back of this was already apparent in the Russell Report in Victoria in the seventies. The bad science emits like a stench from the quarrels among leading evolutionists about their own ideas, unfixed because they have nothing to fix on. This is feeding children Moloch, which was a major cause of the downfall of ancient Israel to Babylon. Investigate and act. Many coverages of major issues are also included. Since God made reason a rule for man, amid his spiritual gifts, let's use it.

Impoverishment, Empowerment
and Life in the Light of the Lord
was published in February 2010. It is now volume 174 in the theological set.
Of special interest is biblical research on the work of the Holy Spirit in Chs. 7 and 8,
and the focus on 'bits' in the area of creation in Ch. 4. Ch. 5 condenses and focuses many matters of the domain of the spirit and mind of man, often made fuzzy by materialistic preoccupations, reductionist shrugs and contra-investigatory nonchalance.
2) Since this overall set of volumes has now become very extensive in size, the emphasis on indexes has to be great. Remember therefore many indexes and approaches are available, in SEARCH, also available in the margin on the Home Page, and much variety of material is listed in Action Kit, also on the margin. SMR was published in 1997, 3rd Edition, and is now in its 63rd Edition. The main update is in the developing data area of scientific investigation, and this is shown at SMR Ch. 2. Specialist sub-sections, some with several volumes for the specialty, are also found in SEARCH.
ADDING THINGS UP AND GETTING THINGS DOWN
was published in January 2010. It is now volume 173 in the theological set,
IN PRAISE OF CHRIST JESUS.
That is a lot of praise, but in this Person, Jesus Christ, there is a lot to praise; for as John the apostle seems to indicate (John 21:25), if words were to be put to His works and ways, how would the whole world contain them! After all, He has lived from eternity, before becoming man in ultimate service (Matthew 20:28).
This volume 173 of the set deals
in various ways, including dialogue as in Ch.
12,
Epilogue,
Finale and the like,
with many topics, essentialising, overviewing, covering in sum. With Ch. 12,
Ch. 11 has a close spiritual and logical
affinity; indeed all these sections cohere like components in a picture.

So much, as the decades now pass like mileposts when one travels in a racing car, has been a mixture of ever more horrid deeds. Thus not only millions were killed, leaders, and academics culled in the case of Pakistan West's move to take over Pakistan East in the seventies, a kind of thing which led to Bangladesh after incredible slaughter, and has led to more in various sites as many in Islam following the Koran, seek to take over governments, or impose dictatorial sharia law.
That, it is is far from all; for meanwhile with Communist flare (such as starts bushfires) others attacked in Cambodia, swelling over from abandoned VIetnam, again selectively killing more millions. The Palestinian junta, with strong Islamic thrust, have been slaying indiscriminately in Israel, that small remnant of the promised Palestine, now largely occupied by Israel's enemies,
Sudan trembles with slaughter of Christians, brigandage of the most oppressive, almost unthinkable, just as earlier Biafra lost millions, and the Congo tribes sought mutual eradication in part or whole, Meanwhile, Iran boasts of obliterating both Israel and its recent history at Hitler's slaughter yards, as if keen to fulfil the biblical prophecies of its downfall, and Stalin's heirs in Russia, are determined to use energy resources as a balance of power and means of income while threatening new strike weapons to point at Europe.
While such juvenile-seeming processes and abysmal murders go on (foretold in Revelation 6), stripping the world of its heritage in people and resources, there is the added dissavour of pompous boasts of pseudo-morals from the United Nations, as from others who seem disposed to kill as an apparent pastime while seeking glory. All these with much more are compounding to create the striking chord of human dissonance and dereliction, as if man were improving, in the sense of becoming more extreme, but in a devilry which desecrates what God has made, not in the creation of a lively worship to Him who has spoken in word and deed, and has left this world whirling to its destiny, while always ready for any who seek Him, always available, in His own name, through the Saviour sent.
The world proceeds, while either ignoring Him in a virtual contempt, or rejecting the Christ whose kingdom is not of this world, and for whom and His kingdom, His servants are instructed not to fight (Matthew 26, John 18).
The only discernible "improvement'', as nations more and more make false christs or follow false prophets as predicted by the authentic, power-displaying Christ (Matthew 24:24) is

in this and not cordial love following His divine words, in His divine Spirit. |
The movement is towards what is reconstructed (through drugs, social mechanics, psychological appeal, force, pleasure promptings and ruin warnings), towards what is to do the will of MAN, or even Man, to be organised as ever- new regional and word associations aspire for world primacy: a thrust which Copenhagen mocked justly. Yet they seek for the ONE solution which, leaving God out for convenience, finds nothing of sainthood (leaving that to a few manufactured in the Vatican, whereas the Bible has them the inhabitants of Churches as so easily seen in the introductions to Paul's letters).
Thus the return of Christ looms near, since Jerusalem was returned to Israel (Luke 21:24), and thus that city acts as a prelude (rather like the Overture to an Opera, but this, it is the opera, the works of God which come). It advances to two movements, as in a symphony. The one is focussing the final new assassination of the Lord (a sort of neo-Last Supper, in which the actual Christ is replaced by the man of sin'' of II Thessalonians 2). This less than original human effort which will replace Nazism, Communism, Nationalism and Islam as world contenders parade and ply for submission to this or that human force, is biblically to move with its own mystic humanism (cf. Revelation 13, 17-19), its leader declaring himself nothing less than GOD!
It is well to consider the options: Man as God, or God as God.
Truth is a fearful enemy; best to make peace with Him, whose felicity is unfathomable, freely (Isaiah 55, Ephesians 2).
Such concepts appear not a little in this Volume, with others of the set; but there is also in this Volume 172, focus on creation, predestination, the love of God and the regimen of realities, instead of the discourse on futilities, and so on Bible study in substantial measure, with this both express and incidental. With this grace in view, may we wish all our readers a happy new year.

This is a book of much review. Creation and Design and relevant criteria provides another aspect (for which see Ch. 6 and Ch. 9).
2) Updating on dating and genetic matters is provided in particular, respectively in the following sites.

As to 1) above:
An Exposition of some elements of Psalm 75-77 explores some of the wonders of His Majesty. It is part of the trio which focus suffering, the Son of Man and the Son of Perdition, namely Chapters 12-14.
3) Why did God create Dinosaurs (Ch. 2 of Mini-Messages ...) incorporates a Christmas message.
4) The Messiah in Jeremiah presentation has been extended with more detail (The Secular, The Sacred and the Sublime Ch. 3).
BUT DO NOT FORGET: The new volume, Mini-Messages ... contains what is a New Year Message in Ch. 13, and this in turn deals through its text and *4 in particular, with both freedom and authority, just as the main message concentrate on suffering and salvation.
5) Lastly, Chapter 6 of Three Anzas, One Answer has been revised for impact. This is one which shows a singular error in the teaching of Gordon Clark, an estimable and brilliant man, but not one whose work can be accepted for that reason, in all things. One leader of an organisation wrote to me saying that Dr Clark's only was THE apologetic basis; but Clarkianism or any other which makes such a claim (or which is given such a claim) does not stand at once in terms of I Corinthians 3, as was pointed out to the propagandist. The be-all and end-all idea is too extreme. "I of Clark ... " simply will not do. It is truth, not one seeking its exposition, which matters.
On the other hand, one wrote asking for much thunder against this view of Dr Clark: it certainly needs correction, but much was good in Gordon's work, and indeed one had the joy of working with him in a Church, as preacher, in one period when he was still with us.
The point in view, in the Chapter noted above, IS VERY important, and brings us to many related issues. It is good to seek the Lord's help in making in this, as in all things, the Bible the only criterion, and applying it. Praise the Lord, He is the help and the rock, the only foundation, and the One whose work is the be-all and the end-all, who alone has the pre-eminence, Jesus Christ. With the utmost care, we must follow the word of the Lord, using it to test all things.

THE SECULAR, THE SACRED AND THE SUBLIME
has been published (November 2008), and is available.
1) An idea of its contents, which are much in creation-salvation-culmination, is to be found below.
The secularity of the secular is just the worldliness of this world. The sacredness of what is sacred is the reflection of the Creator, and the sublimity of the sublime is the manifestation of His power, presence, personal nature, wisdom, brilliance, majesty, holiness, compassion and mercy, wonder and grand creativeness, the anterior to our own passion for it, the ground for it and for as many as receive Him who made them freely, who paid for their restoration and redeemed, the culmination of it.
HERE is the real creativity: GOD who created first man, has created the solution to the sin which is the necessary aptitude of liberty, and in so doing has sent His personal expression, His living word, the exact representation of His being, incarnate as His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to bring the Eternal to the Present, the Everlasting to the Temporal and the Life Eternal to the recipients.
It is part of His creativity and holiness that it is free ... Certain additional emphases are found on this topic in this volume.
2) It also deals with education, that soliciting against creation with lack of information in skewed presentation, at times linked with a broader teaching, and miseducation. Here we consider that startling resolve shown not a little in Australia, to crimp, cramp or even vamp, when it comes in secular schools, to God, religion, and especially creation. How is this done ? It is by done, first, by trying to bring the obscene (not suitable indeed for children - and who needs it!) into a barred area on the internet, a justifiable step. This however is then on some plans nearly implemented, and threatening, grouped things that may prove distasteful emotionally, whether domestic, religious, marital and so forth, as if truth were to be a casualty in principle, because some people seek to subvert the young with filth and horror. Thus you have the grouping of the obscene, this ALONG WITH freedom of speech on matters deemed too emotionally intense (because rationally intense and spiritually crucial), mattrers religious and 'mature' matters. Such a silly synthesis has been tried! It may be tried agtain.
If however the reality of God, the evidence for truth, the nature of life and its destinies are not thought good enough for children to know without being patronisingly inept, what is! Do they not deserve to be given what is before them ? Are barbaric pretensions to be permitted to subvert truth by buying restraint through 'classification' issued, ludicrously extended from filth to faith!
Must painfully skewed philosophers masquerading as politicians abort knowledge! Indeed, some of these have seemed inclined to tell young Australians, or indeed older ones on the pretext that it also could be accessed by the young, HOW to deal with the MOST important issues on the internet. How then ? Some seem to incline to the view that religion should be dealt with in such a manner that it must be pappish, soft and mouldable, not too challenging! Is man so blind that matters of matter are to be aired freely, while matters of his spirit by which he thinks and chooses are not! Is a car to be examined, but the driver excluded!
Did Churchill summon: Look chaps, it is not for me to speak forcibly, for I know we all have our views, but could I just for one moment put to you a point about beaches and engaging in fighting and all that ... just for a moment if you do not mind.
See Chapter 1, moving on from the autobiography of Mussolini to Hitler and others, to gain perspective on the altogether unlovely confusion which has tried and doubtless will try again to subvert the liberty of speech, and without OF COURSE wishing it, the love of God. It is difficult to love what you are preventing from knowing, and what is slandered by scientistic teaching, kept free from reason (as seen in detail, in TMR Ch. 8). This is the field of ... miseducation. Surely God can still reach by miracle, but what is the case for those who make it the more necessary ? (Matthew 18).
3) THE MESSIAH IN JEREMIAH,
WHICH IS EXEGETICAL, AND A GRAND TOPIC. It is not that Isaiah is given too much prominence (for HOW could that be!), but that often Jeremiah in THIS respect is given too little. Effort is made then to remedy this! (Ch. 3).

This little fever to oppress the race will pass; and it is well to be ready both for it and for what it will call for (cf. Revelation 12:11, Luke 21:15).
As you serve the Lord in unqualified testimony now, so you bid fair to be better prepared as pressures intensify to subjugate the race to fraud and fever, propaganda and false christs (cf. Revelation 13:11ff., 16:13). Let us do valiantly, for the goodwill of our God and Saviour, Jesus Christ, in His love penetrates even the darkness; and some more souls we look to find for Him, as the clouds pass before the sun of righteousness shines forever (Malachi 4:2).
Then, with His light will His people shine as redeemed reflectors (Matthew 13:43). Meanwhile, the darkness that intensifies, the more needs the light: so let it shine (Philippians 2:15).

Firstly, Man in Retrospect, in Prospect and in Bold Relief, has been published during February. It sees spiritual thing in historical flow, man in crisis and the future in Biblical perspective, looking from first to last. In these things perspective is crucial for understanding, and only in biblical perspective is all explicable, logical and cohesive, including the nature of creation, human pathology, sin and its sentence, grace and its pardon, man and his nature, dismal doom and delightful destiny alike, depending on the horizon in view, and this on the Guide and takes you there, Jesus Christ.
The clarity is as sharp, the consistency as perfect, the logical validity as bright in this biblical Christian setting as is the dimness of the opposite and opposing approach, which brings the now routine discomfort and diseased irrationalities of those who grow into the post-Christian dumps, sometimes vacillating with a bipolar thumps, as bitter dreams and sullen hopes lie eviscerated on the tarmac of history, and seek vainly to arise, struggling with ever increasing anguish while ludicrous dreams arise like smoke from a burning city, glittering with ashes.

Its point is partly for education, what I found both in Melbourne University and the Presbyterian Seminary at that time, as well as for the sense of a journey, adventure, mission and finally pilgrimage for Christ. It is in this sense that it seems worth writing at all. It is given its due spiritual focus. During 2006, we reached the first decade of World Wide Web Witness, our testimony to the truth in Christ Jesus, according to the word of God, the Bible, on the Web. We praise God for His help, which has been prodigious and constant, just as He is magnificent and faithful.
We now in 2007 proceed into the next phase, so long as we are called to continue with the privilege of this labour, in the service of the immutable majesty of the living God.
For the latest New Year Word, listen to this from Zephaniah:
"Do not fear;
Zion, let not your hands be weak.
The Lord your God in your midst,
The Mighty One, will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing,"

Better to draw
than any cheque is that water, for what is chequered, in Him becomes
check-mate for the devil, who defeated, can only rave, murder and maul.
Inveterate, he is fallen for ever; whereas in Christ is the peace of the truth,
inviolable, founded on the One violated in life, that we might be vitiated no
more, but pardoned, impressed into the service of His kingdom.

Especially is this so in Chapter 1 as it deals rather copiously with its
SURVEY of the FOLLY and the BEAUTY
of LIFE,
a multi-faceted account. Ch. 2 also has been extended, but not this alone.

1) MUCH more work has been done on the volume published in August and still receiving matériel and polish, Design and Deity ...
It appears it is now around 2.7 million words. It not merely shows that creation is a design phenomenon, but that there are vast reaches of cosmoi, logically arranged, superbly testable arenas of specifiable work and action, each diverse and all coherent together, organised with word and impacting in every area and arena with sophisticated wisdom. This is as far more than mere design of an object, as is the fashioning of a universe beyond the simple use of its resources for play. Chapters 2 and 7 have received much more attention this month, but not these alone.
The introductions to each of the 11 chapters are intended to provide fire for the spirit and light to the mind of man, as well as invigoration to the Christian heart. Always, what the Bible has said, and what the empirical facts have shown are in the end woven into a tartan where truth dominates and divine wisdom and vision is attested.
It is because of sin that the obvious majesty of the creation is both obscured to the flittering mind and changed by divine curse, from all-beneficent to a thing most testing! And why not test - for even gold is the better seen for it. And why be a thing, if you cannot see it, and why have it if it cannot be shown!
2) For more in these themes see The Site, where sermons continue to grow, in short form, the latest last, and AUDIO on the Home Page, where now weekly or nearly so, a sermon appears to which you can listen as well! This shows equally some more auditory opportunities.
3) In addition, there has been a considerable extension of Bay of Retractable Islands, Mission for the Mainland, From Evanescent Extremes, Back to the Book of the Lord Ch. 19.
This, with Ch. 18, deals with Israel, a topic given much attention in the Bible as a guide, instruction, challenge and focus for divine action, both past, present and future; as does

1. Design and Deity, Designation and Destiny has been considerably extended in its new presentations in several Chapters. Meeting the current confusion in which ludicrous imaginings are given as much attention as atomic secrets, while being as futile as nursery rhymes, this exhibits the truth of creation, design and divine action in contradistinction to all else, at length, perhaps now 2.7 million words.
2. Glory, Vainglory and Goodness Ch. 7 at the Excursion in *2 has been given a large addition of substantial interest on 'Israel' and contemporary events, aiding realisation of biblical perspective and appreciation of divine action.
This relates also to Open Door, Closed Mind and the Call of Christ Ch. 8 and the confusion of attack evidenced there. The Bible is not limited to replacement theology or to defacement theology (Ch. 8 as marked), but is far broader than either in its coverage. It is not limited by such crimping traditions, as if someone tried to put bulges into stays, with little success.
The Bible is straightforward in truth, but not simplistic in connotation. It needs STUDY! not sweeping generalisations without textual precision, far less without accuracy even in what they address, like a mine that explodes at any vibration, without any discrimination or knowing what it does. More grace is needed, and from the Lord can readily be supplied.
It is in precise and careful study, as in science, that the payloads accrue (cf. John 8:31, Psalm 119:18-20).
3. There has been some updating in TMR Ch. 7 E on the fact of the relatively young earth and its attestation.

The Shadow of a Mighty Rock has had some updating, expansion and correlation in Ch. 1, at Section E, on beginnings, rationality abd empirical testimony. To this is conjoined assessment of the obfuscatory obsession of the secular which replaces thought, but still tries in vain to think! This brings into sight some of the more recent components of this site - including analysis of Big Bang confusions, with the original trilogy, and constitutes therefore a useful reference.

1. A new volume has now been added to the list, number 140:
Design and Deity, Designation and Destiny.
This covers around 2.6 million words and has both a compilation aspect, an extension one and an addition of new material, all topically arranged. The reality of manifest design, definitionally inescapable, in multiplied dimensions, suffuses what man is and creation likewise, is attested not merely in the physical, the mental and the spiritual, but in the realms of creation itself, the plan of salvation, power with predestination, love with purity, licence with law, eschatological and didactic phases no less. Design moreover is merely one element in this conspectus: for the rest read.
2. Ch. 7 of this volume includes a large conspectus coverage, some in question and answer format, of basics of Christian life and truth (read down from this link). Arresting developments which fit into prophetic forecast are noted.
3. Repent or Perish Ch. 7 has had a significant addition.
4. Models and Marvels, a sub-section in That Magnificent Rock, being Ch. 7, has had addition in Section E on dating, at *4, an Excursion.

1. A new volume has now been added to the list, number 138:
2. A Short Article on Authority, the Bible, Truth, Tongues and Teaching has been purged of some technical faults, and represented. It now appears as a references in the main work in this field, A Question of Gifts, but can be used alone. Its name is "ELTHAM".
3. Indexes are being revised significantly, so do not forget those in SEARCH, or the conveniently little one, INDEX MINOR.
4. The new volume has three chapters concerning Deuteronomy 32, its vast scope of prophecy, its enormous significant and its inter-relationship to many places in biblical discourse. For this, see Chapters 3, 4, and 5 from the hyperlink in 1 above.
5. There is a discourse on design, deity, intelligence and creativity on biblical, logical lines, at Ch. 3 Appendix, in the same new volume. Like the other chapters, this specialises on perspective, biblical perspective.
6. The topic of THE POOR and the Bible is not always addressed in its specific textual format. It is dramatic. See for this Ch. 6 in the new volume.
7. Remember that short summaries of sermons, week by week normally, are to be found at this sermon site … . These are always textually based from the Bible. Sinners Only is a useful sermon for commencement.
8. FREEDOM AND VALIDITY is Ch. 7 in the new volume, and this may interest you, when you reflect on the meaning of man and his liberty; for it has large implications. As always, the word of God and the reason that God has given to man speak in the closest harmony. Perspective is sometimes necessary however in order to remove the dark glasses of cluttering and enclosing culture which seeks to blacken the obvious, distort the true and ransack rationality ... by ostensible use of reason, in a gloriously comic antilogy.

2. In the interim, a second volume has been published in May, 2007, 136. It is called:
BAY OF RETRACTABLE ISLANDS: MISSION TO THE MAINLAND.
It has an irenic purpose, tempered by the thrust for accuracy. Islands of extremism, in explaining Biblical text, have floated off the mainland, and there is need to reclaim them, or for their return, in order that the actualities of the Bible be found, not in mere moderation as such, though fidelity to the text often produces precisely that relative to the extremes, but in fidelity that does not budge for tradition, preference or desire. Fourteen islands are surveyed.
In what might be imaged as a flight over the maritime areas of the islands, we look and see on the mainland, major mountains of great beauty, and these send forth their message of strength beyond the seas. These are viewed in Chapters 20-21, all available from the hyperlink above.

Its scope ranges from startling facts about Zechariah 13 and the application to the deep penetration of the word of God, and its magnificent felicity, depth and consistent accuracy, to Church and State relationships.

Meanwhile, a large and select compendium, with interpretation and Christian Apologetic application is being prepared, its name: BAY OF RETRACTABLE ISLANDS.
Its purpose is to show 10 major areas of unnecessary division in the area of simple biblical interpretation, where traditions have entered consciously or not, and pugnacity tends to replace the irenic moderation which strict adherence to the actual text induces. When this is done, as has been done here and there of course in the past, but often episodically instead of totally, then the clarity of the word of God on the one hand, and the magnificent harmony of its holy teaching becomes yet more delightful, an attestation to its Author and source. In a way, this is like a simple careening. The evangelical Christian faith needs to be wholly unashamed, for its crown is the Lord and its cause that of His word.
As this volume is interactive internally, it seems best to wait until it is almost finished before making it available.

A new volume, No. 134, has been published, and its name is:
The OPEN DOOR, the CLOSED MIND and the CALL of CHRIST
This includes much exposition in
Jeremiah, Hosea, Zechariah, Revelation, Hebrews, and Romans,
with applications to the present time.
This gives significant scope for Bible Study, which has also a separate
file.
Cases of stubbornness or being suborned in mind appear, as does the divine solution.
Of particular interest is a challenge which unfortunately brought a charge in several instances, of NOT holding what we do hold! This was at least different. It is like being chided for being a sailor when you work in a mine!
This was, though egregious, good in a way, since where error occurs (and the false charges were accompanied by other error), there is more opportunity to broadcast the truth as the error is rebutted (cf. I Corinthians 11:19) and to exhibit the truth more fully. This has now been done on this site (see the files below). There is no rebuttal however for those who make challenges about what is contrary to fact, simple empirical error, such as arrived at our door: only retraction is then to the point. Indeed, in all matters concerning the Bible, accuracy is essential, and to mix factual error with any attempt to interpret the Bible is like tolerating a disease without treatment, in a hospital. It is not an option; nor can we proceed where such devices occur.
It also brings up the intriguing point that many things have more than superficial meaning, Matthew 22:32ff. being a good example. Indeed, in some cases, what is the most significant thrust is implied. This is where those having ears, are to ... hear, as Christ declaimed.

More attention is given to Calvin's error in the Decretum Horribile
which is not necessary to his five points: in Ch. 2.
Such things make it all the more obvious how serious is the unscriptural error of saying, I am of Clark, of Calvin, of Wesley or whatever else but Christ and His word. Some of the greatest of these names have made substantial errors. It is best to be biblical and thank God for their great and valued services, while NOT naming oneself, one's church or one's faith after them (I Corinthians 3). Much mischief is done in this disobedient way, in dividing the Church. There is only one foundation which one MUST have. It needs no other support.
5) The Crack in the Tail Plane - a further chapter on Job is found in Ch. 2 of The Pride of Life, the Prince of Life and the Destiny of Man; and now it is also lodged, as here with introduction, at the end of the

We at World Wide Web Witness Inc. are exceedingly grateful to God that it seems He has raised up not one but three creation-specialising, scientifically oriented bodies, in Australia or through Australians.
Creation Research, with its desirable stress that it seems to have had on the doctrine of separation, education and field trips, Answers in Genesis with its strong expository style in its field and entrepreneurial flair, especially in the matter of its exhibitions and teaching methods, and Creation Ministries International, with its often very soberly scientific magazines, with a considerable variety of features as well, some also in a less academic vein: these all, in one way or another, have contributed knowledge at the scientific level and/or provided useful facilities.
This is a useful addition for the people of God in combating the devil's obvious and ostentatious desire to use ballyhoo instead of truth in order to make a mythical masterpiece, evolutionism, as if it were an option alternative to creation, though this philosophy has no resemblance to the rigours of scientific method, and every resemblance to logical farce. This is as foretold (II Timothy 4:3-4, II Peter 3:1-5 cf. SCIENTIFIC METHOD, SATANIC METHOD AND THE MODEL OF SALVATION).

Just as a Prime Minister or President may be able to escape from ridicule at times, when he is propounding various foolish notions from his executive heights, so here, scientists, a good percentage of them at least, have been propounding in this field, wishful hopes without help from the empirical domain, mere artistries of empty thought: this in the name of evolutionism. Some even claim to do it in the name of science! Like a chanting army, they have been noisily pushing doctrines which are palpably absurd. Thus the mere passing of time is made the equivalent of a creative nursery of life’s brilliance, while in ‘nature’, sub-moronic matter – that is, something without any mind at all – is magically moved to become a genius beyond measure, author of myriads of miles of detailed information, not only imprinted with commands and supplied with executive direction with astounding finesse, but marvellously miniaturised in DNA. Thus the least becomes the most, matter’s a secretary, exhibiting the constraints and code of a mental strength without mentality, while all comes from nothing at once or in steps, cause becomes irrelevant and arrivals are like Peter Pan, flitting in from a paradise of ingenuity, like a breeze blowing from where nothing is. So here is found sprawling self-contradiction, a very masterpiece of verbal emptiness, where calumny of the Creator comes in sight as a way of anti-empirical life, many dimly or even actively disdaining Him on the one hand, or on the other, wedding Him to the curse which is laid upon sin, as if by this He created! As to the latter, it is nothing but an aggravation of folly, an extrapolation of evil, where sin decides to condemn the Judge for its own whippings (Romans 5:1-17, 8:17ff. cf. Spiritual Food and Spiritual Drink Chs. 1 and 12), while vainly trying to wash its own hands (cf. Beyond the Curse).

It is however necessary for us at Word Wide Web Witness Inc., an arm of the Australian Bible Church - continuing in principle on the original and unharassed 1901 basis of the Presbyterian Church of Australia, with its grand composure of biblical elements, to clarify a point in this area. It is this. Although we use the work of such bodies as the above three creation organisations, this is not to be taken to mean that their various positions or methods are always ones we could endorse.
Quite the contrary is the recent case where a difference between two such Christian bodies reportedly became a matter of secular law despite exceedingly clear words in the Bible, at I Corinthians 6:1ff.. Some years ago, one of us did not take legal action against acutely evil action by a particular body calling itself Christian, in view of this scriptural prohibition, and because of a natural desire not to bring the name of the Lord into any disrepute.
In the above creationist case, however, one secular newspaper took the opportunity to lampoon Christian creationism, marvelling that it took these two Christian creationist bodies so long to settle their differences, several years eventually, it declared, before settling out of court: this, when God took only six days to create the universe. Such was their jibe.
They apparently forgot, or chose to forget that God is infinitely wiser and better than we are. Whoever was responsible must answer to God for supervening His word.
Indeed, this lapse from the Bible’s directions cost dear. This is a source of deepest concern. After all, Solomon did exceedingly well, but in the end took the law into his own hands in no small measure! That King slid too close into certain convenient relations with false religions.

No less
applies to other sects, such as Romanism (cf. SMR pp.
1032-1088H, The Holocaust or
Morality … Ch. 5), where
these arise for view. It has become necessary to emphasise this.
It is equally intolerable, as has occurred in literature forwarded by a creationist body, to seek to try to make it appear that the Romanist pope during World War II was not supine or fearful, but actively heroic in saving many lives. Whatever the truth of this matter, with behind the scenes concepts imagined or asserted, one thing is clear. Softness on the follies of Rome, instead of facing the issues it involves, is not wise (cf. I Timothy 4:1-6). For reference, it may be noted that this, together with a parallel issue in the same field, is traced for concern in The Holocaust of Morality and the Coming of Christ the King Ch. 5.
The pope did NOT expose the folly, cruelty and horror of Hitler and his rule, which gained initial power in a way much helped by subtle political action directed from Rome, according to report (SMR pp. 968ff.). This aided at the first, his coming to power, something thus aided ever to mount at all, by this very body. In this way, it was even helped into power at the crucial point, by political intervention, through deliberate Romanist action. Once in, the acme of horror at Hitler's hand was not seen to be condemned by the body that so helped him!
Did the pope pillory Nazism for its anti-Jewish tortures and genocide ? Where is this found, for it is missing.
If it is not so, and if the war-time pope did in fact hold forth with eloquent condemnation and arousal of the world to the situation as fast as he knew of it, it is not known to be so!
In view of these atrocious developments, a severance and a disjunction, a condemnation and an exposure was entirely necessary, and appears ENTIRELY LACKING from the papacy when Hitler's power threatened menacingly. If then, this was so in general, it was more so in the Jewish case. You do not, in the kingdom of heaven, twiddle your theological thumbs; and if you presume to speak for Christ (apart from the sanctions which His word imposes on all, cf. Matthew 23:8-10), then to fail to expose what you helped to impose is a course of moral failure, the more so when in the Romanist Inquisition, not only Christians in their thousands but Jews were harangued, harassed and smitten.
Hitler's action was the coping stone of the arch of persecution in Europe, over the centuries; it by no means began it. The rigorous condemnation of that heartless inhumanity by one who spoke about humanity in the name of Christ at all, and assumed a universal position, was like omitting a report on a cancer tumour, in a health review.
It saves trouble if you do not speak, and perhaps your neck; but if you roundly condemn, then you reject, expose, impugn, raise a human voice against inhuman barbarity, set a tone in the realms of celestial speech, and of course, in this case, differentiate yourself from the tortures that Romanism so freely conferred on Jewish people in the past, setting the record straight, even though nothing can remove what was done, in direct violation of Christ's command (John 18:36, Matthew 26:52ff.).
Universal condemnation was needed to inform human beings of inhumanity on a gross, selective and vile scale, to arouse moral integrity to action in a war against the man who contrived such follies, assist awareness of the point of the conflict and its perils if lost, engender an attitude of pain and grief for Jews that would stir vast energies of heart, just as the fear of the atomic bomb did, leading to new initiatives by Europeans, some of the most expert of which went to America, to help overthrow such horrors.
Truth is not a thing to be ignored, but propounded; and the mind of man is not to be squashed into ignorance, instead of opened to reality, so that the immoral gates might be pounded with fresh energy and initiative, from greater depths of revulsion, and awareness of the importance of time.
It was decisively needed that people should expose with special knowledge when they had it, what would fortify opposition, remove misplaced romanticism even if it exposed those who so spoke, themselves to peril DURING the war, and possible death after it! What had helped to establish Hitler would need speedily to expose the folly, heartlessness and grotesqueries of the madman, intoxicated with power and philosophy, like rum and whiskey in harness.
An exposure at heart to the heart, this was needed.
With the papacy, THIS, it did not happen.
The pope did not find it necessary in stark courage and total honour for the Lord, to speak openly and persuasively on behalf of those so treated, to expose the treatment and its source, as one valiant for the truth; nor did he exercise the denunciation which might have eroded earlier and more fully some of the panache of Hitler. This might have shown that there were those who at whatever cost, do not cower or plot or consign themselves to secrecy, but with the valour of fidelity and the sweep of spiritual zeal use every way available to testify in truth concerning whatever things demand it for moral integrity.
Thus in comparative silence on this holocaust, there was less danger to pope and to his regime, whoever won the war; and the initial use of Hitler as of so many others in their day (SMR pp. 968ff.), did not become a thing decisively cast off, or treated with due abhorrence with all the moral force available. This left alliance able to continue with EITHER the Allies or Hitler, after the war. In fact, Romanism was quite used to deploying princes and Emperors, as in the long day, the dreary centuries of the Holy Roman Empire, with its cunning contrivances and brazen power, political and religious, in disharmonious but fearful assault on humanity.
Truth needs to be spoken (Isaiah 59:14); and when the enemy comes in like a flood: the Spirit of the Lord lifts up a banner against him (Isaiah 59:19). Deception, delusion, profusion of distortion, propaganda, it all rushes in and reality needs its attestation in whatever climate. Man is not a twiddle patch, but made in the image of God, must be shown the truth, allowed to discern and decide in the light of it, not treated like children by those who manage levers, themselves escaping the vast perils, instead of instituting vast impetus to overcome the now revealed evil. Whatever was done, this was NOT done.
Much the same, only worse, has
happened in the field of evolution, where report is now to hand of celebration
of the Darwinian anniversary in pontifical places. There can be no excuse for
the developing papal endorsement
of the type of thing Darwin has envisaged, or for hiding it, as if the pontiff
did not claim utter and universal power to teach in God's name, whatever
doctrine he has in mind concerning things moral, spiritual and especially
biblical. It is stated at papal coronation, that the pope is "the Father
of princes and Kings, Ruler of the World, the Vicar of our Saviour, Jesus
Christ." In the New York Catechism, he is deemed the "father and teacher
of all Christians, " and further, "the infallible ruler, the founder of dogmas,
the author and judge of councils; the universal ruler of truth, the arbiter of
the world, the supreme judge of heaven and earth ... God himself on earth."
Indeed, in the Bull, Unam Sanctam, the pope claims this, "If, therefore, the earthly power err, it shall be judged by a greater," which is then identified as that claimed by Rome; and he adds the 'spiritual sword' to his hand, at divinely authorised to himself, who being human yet has this authority divine as a person in a line.
Those who would wish it different, even in Rome, as one article featured in the work of one creationist body suffered to appear, do not alter the grand and pompous pretensions of the papacy concerning their power to interpret the Bible or impose their own doctrines, at will, whatever they may deem its source concerning man before God, and God over man. Nor is doctrine ALL that is claimed for him! Power over princes is added! Responsibilities are therefore morally proportionate: or should truth bow, judgment be kept silent, and this divine representative omit judgment when what he has forwarded explodes into horror all but unimaginable!
In the realm of creation and evolutionism, the doctrine of the papacy has declined in decisive steps into these most abominable lairs of cruelty, implying acceptance of evil as if a productive resource, whereas creation was most differently brought to be, and all the types of evil espoused by evolutionary imaginations as productive and creative, are by God consigned to vanity because of sin (Romans 8:17ff.). The curse and subjection to a vanity which is neither its virtue nor method of creation, is no place to find the blessing of the Maker! God did not create by punishment, nor institute by curse, nor did He violate His own nature, which is love, but its exhibition in bringing forth the heavens and the earth. Nothing could be viler in its imputations than this.
In fact, divine discipline as in Romans 8 and 5, and Genesis 3, is not at all the method of creation (cf. Beyond the Curse), either empirically or logically. The theistic evolution papally so progressively embraced is a horror story of defilement of the very name of God, using His curse as if it were His creation (cf. SMR Ch. 10, and in particular, pp. 30ff., 85, 88ff., 121, 126-127, 135-151, 149-159, 179-194, 195-197, S8, S19, 303-311, 316C, 482-498, 615, 999-1000 ).
It is not
just morally evil even to consider such a thing; it is factually contrary to
investigation (cf. The gods of naturalism have no
go!).
From all such things, their methods, means and fellowship, the godly must separate. Lot was nearly swallowed with the lot of them, a near escape being managed (Genesis 19); while the Lord's detestation of toleration of evil spiritual words and ways is all too clear in Jeremiah 23, Deuteronomy 13 and Ezekiel 14. Methods change as the nature of society is theocratic or democratic; but the ATTITUDE OF GOD to false premises, the gods that man acquires apart from the One who made him and told Him His way of doing it, this remains clear at all times.
The Lord abhors involvement with them or their provocateurs, with these mockers and mockeries, these religious pastiches. Stooping to share in any way with those who REPRESENT such evils, violates as if by ravishment, the purity the Lord requires (Romans 16:17 and see below). What names such names as these is self-excluded from fellowship with those who adhere to the words of the Lord, and His words ABOUT what does NOT so adhere!
In the long run, failure to
honour these aspects of the word of God, to separate from all such teaching and
teachers, and accordingly to honour the very nature of God, will be bound to lead to pathological
consequences of an indeterminate but awesome character; and what one says in
love, is nevertheless a matter for acute pondering and watchful application!

We who are freely redeemed by Jesus Christ for ever by His own blood and follow His own word of grace, mercy and authority (Ephesians 1:11, John 8:31, 6:46, Acts 5:32) need to be deep in obedience in these challenging days, avoiding all compromise, fellowship and aid to the ideas of anti-scriptural 'Christianity' as it moves on its fateful way (II Peter 2:1ff.). We need longing for carefulness according to the word of God, each helping the other, in meeting every challenge, none taking advantage of specialisation, whether church, the body of Christ as in Romans 12 and Ephesians 2,4, or tributary body. It is important that none depart from generic rules applicable to all, for specialised purposes. NO ONE who is a Christian has ANY authority EVER to change the rules of consorting and fellowship, for ANY purpose.
As all this is now public - law, meetings and the rest - it continues so here. There are biblical limits to the ways in which one may relate to others, in particular to those involved in contra-scriptural 'Christianity', in fact a contradiction in terms, whatever one's calling. It is like a Hospital: however much you may like patients, fellowship with germs on a cordial basis is more than insensitive: it is blindness.
It must be stressed that nothing should be allowed to minimise the biblical prohibitions concerning fellowship and co-ordination of activities in spiritual frame, with what has moved categorically from the word of God, and the biblical testimony of Christ. Love obeys (John 14:21-23) and so far from being a ground for outage from what God declares, it is spur to desire to know His word and to do it (I Corinthians 13:6).
This is perhaps a good time to encourage Christians to become aware of some of the recent movements and of old stabilities in this Adventist sect as in these last phases of Romanism; and to recognise the enduring default from biblical Christianity multiply present within both. While these things do not prevent our using such materials, such as come from any creation body which should fail in this area - indeed we could use material from any source so long as it did not per se involve any form of fellowship or co-operation - it does put a pall over our joy in such matters, and it draws the deepest concern when such prohibitions and injunctions are not followed.
There is not only a need for clarity, but for warning and exhortation as seen when you read in II Timothy 4:1-6, for example, where some specifics of one type in the broad spectrum of such invasions of Christianity in its own name are predicted to occur, just as it is yet more generally revealed in II Peter 2.
Is it then spiritual to be supine about this ? Not at all, and quite to the contrary, scripturally. Love that does not heed the need to warn is like a mother who smiles when her child tells here he has found a new way of safely crossing the road without opening his eyes.
"Now the Spirit speaks expressly,
that in the latter times
some will depart from the faith,
giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
speaking lies in hypocrisy ...'
This is by no means all; but it indicates something of the current direction of our concerns. This is not to condemn a creation body, but a type of action; and this not for any joy it gives, but in the fear of God and the knowledge of where such things can lead. Spiritual gifts, in fact, are not self-sufficient, but are connected to graces and the call for obedience in one and in all, under the Head and His rules for all. We are all imperfect; but it is not wise to let peril pass, or through silence to allow others to be misled because something excellent in many ways, appears to be beginning to sway here and there, mainly outside its special field.
According to the measure of the gift, let it be used; and according to the command of the Head, let there be restraint. As in cricket, there are many methods of bowling with an eventual aim, but they should not be off the pitch. That is for some other game!
We therefore cannot allow our own use of technical materials to mislead anyone into any false direction, by giving no warning, when any specialised service body, even if creationist, an excellent thing in itself, takes liberties in bowling.
For us, Christ will always be our special field, and all that pertains to Him, whether in a specialised field or not. This is our policy, and our earnest desire is to follow Him in all things, according to His word, however imperfect, at any point or time, we ourselves may be, in this or that result. For the overall impact of what we are directed to do, and the moulding of ourselves who are commissioned to do it, we trust in Him, to whom our way is committed, seeking to be governed by His word as enabled within it, by His Spirit.
Part of our need here, then, is to prevent misconception from our usage of materials often in themselves, both excellent in their domain and useful.
May the Lord Jesus Christ be glorified and His people blessed. Alas, to carry one's cross is not at all an easy thing, and convenience is far from it. Lively fellowship with the people of the Lord has its challenges, and its purifications, and the fear of God must always, as Peter advises, be kept in mind. Indeed, it is not a craven fear for love casts out that trembling which has no faith; but it is a clean fear as in Psalm 19, and it endures forever, just as the statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart.
Let then our hearts rejoice, for self-discipline is always fit for one who bears a cross, and joy is always active where He is obeyed (cf. Acts 5:32).

January
1) Mini-Messages with Maxi-Point for the Call of Christ was published in December 2008: smaller items are being presented for impact, quicker assimilation, as a variant. Suffering is a major concern. This is a book of much review. Creation and Design and relevant criteria provides another aspect (for which see Ch. 6 and Ch. 9).
2) Updating on dating and genetic matters is provided in particular, respectively in the following sites.
a) TMR Ch. 7 as marked (read through and down to the last). An index item on dating has been provided at this site.
b) Ch. 6 of this latest work.
As to 1) above:
An Exposition of some elements of Psalm 75-77 explores some of the wonders of His Majesty. It is part of the trio which focus suffering, the Son of Man and the Son of Perdition, namely Chapters 12-14.
3) Why did God create Dinosaurs (Ch. 2 of Mini-Messages ...) incorporates a Christmas message.
4) The Messiah in Jeremiah presentation has been extended with more detail (The Secular, The Sacred and the Sublime Ch. 3).
BUT DO NOT FORGET: The new volume, Mini-Messages ... contains what is a New Year Message in Ch. 13, and this in turn deals through its text and *4 in particular, with both freedom and authority, just as the main message concentrate on suffering and salvation.
5) Lastly, Chapter 6 of Three Anzas, One Answer has been revised for impact. This is one which shows a singular error in the teaching of Gordon Clark, an estimable and brilliant man, but not one whose work can be accepted for that reason, in all things. One leader of an organisation wrote to me saying that Dr Clark's only was THE apologetic basis; but Clarkianism or any other which makes such a claim (or which is given such a claim) does not stand at once in terms of I Corinthians 3, as was pointed out to the propagandist. The be-all and end-all idea is too extreme. "I of Clark ... " simply will not do. It is truth, not one seeking its exposition, which matters.
On the other hand, one wrote asking for much thunder against this view of Dr Clark: it certainly needs correction, but much was good in Gordon's work, and indeed one had the joy of working with him in a Church, as preacher, in one period when he was still with us.
The point in view, in the Chapter noted above, IS VERY important, and brings us to many related issues. It is good to seek the Lord's help in making in this, as in all things, the Bible the only criterion, and applying it. Praise the Lord, He is the help and the rock, the only foundation, and the One whose work is the be-all and the end-all, who alone has the pre-eminence, Jesus Christ. With the utmost care, we must follow the word of the Lord, using it to test all things.

THE SECULAR, THE SACRED AND THE SUBLIME
has been published (November 2008), and is available.
1) An idea of its contents, which are much in creation-salvation-culmination, is to be found below.
The secularity of the secular is just the worldliness of this world. The sacredness of what is sacred is the reflection of the Creator, and the sublimity of the sublime is the manifestation of His power, presence, personal nature, wisdom, brilliance, majesty, holiness, compassion and mercy, wonder and grand creativeness, the anterior to our own passion for it, the ground for it and for as many as receive Him who made them freely, who paid for their restoration and redeemed, the culmination of it.
HERE is the real creativity: GOD who created first man, has created the solution to the sin which is the necessary aptitude of liberty, and in so doing has sent His personal expression, His living word, the exact representation of His being, incarnate as His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to bring the Eternal to the Present, the Everlasting to the Temporal and the Life Eternal to the recipients.
It is part of His creativity and holiness that it is free ... Certain additional emphases are found on this topic in this volume.
2) It also deals with education, that soliciting against creation with lack of information in skewed presentation, at times linked with a broader teaching, and miseducation, that startling resolve shown not a little in Australia, to crimp, cramp or even vamp. How is this done ? It is by trying to bring the obscene (not suitable indeed for children - and who needs it!) into a barred area on the internet, but this ALONG WITH freedom of speech and emotionally intense (because rationally intense and spiritually crucial), religious and 'mature' matters. Such a silly synthesis has been tried.
If however the reality of God, the evidence for truth, the nature of life and its destinies are not thought good enough for children to know without being patronisingly inept, what is! Do they not deserve to be given what is before them ?
Must painfully skewed philosophers masquerading as politicians abort knowledge ? Indeed, some of these have seemed inclined to tell young Australians, or indeed older ones on the pretext that it also could be accessed by the young, HOW to deal with the MOST important issues on the internet. How then ? Some seem to incline to the view that religion should be dealt with in such a manner that it must be pappish, soft and mouldable, not too challenging! Is man so blind that matters of matter are to be aired freely, while matters of his spirit by which he thinks and chooses are not! Is a car to be examined, but the driver excluded!
Did Churchill summon: Look chaps, it is not for me to speak forcibly, for I know we all have our views, but could I just for one moment put to you a point about beaches and engaging in fighting and all that ... just for a moment if you do not mind.
See Chapter 1, moving on from the autobiography of Mussolini to Hitler and others, to gain perspective on the altogether unlovely confusion which has tried and doubtless will try again to subvert the liberty of speech, and without OF COURSE wishing it, the love of God. It is difficult to love what you are preventing from knowing, and what is slandered by scientistic teaching, kept free from reason (as seen in detail, in TMR Ch. 8). This is the field of ... miseducation. Surely God can still reach by miracle, but what is the case for those who make it the more necessary ? (Matthew 18).
3) THE MESSIAH IN JEREMIAH,
WHICH IS EXEGETICAL, AND A GRAND TOPIC. It is not that Isaiah is given too much prominence (for HOW could that be!), but that often Jeremiah in THIS respect is given too little. Effort is made then to remedy this! (Ch. 3).

This little fever to oppress the race will pass; and it is well to be ready both for it and for what it will call for (cf. Revelation 12:11, Luke 21:15).
As you serve the Lord in unqualified testimony now, so you bid fair to be better prepared as pressures intensify to subjugate the race to fraud and fever, propaganda and false christs (cf. Revelation 13:11ff., 16:13). Let us do valiantly, for the goodwill of our God and Saviour, Jesus Christ, in His love penetrates even the darkness; and some more souls we look to find for Him, as the clouds pass before the sun of righteousness shines forever (Malachi 4:2).
Then, with His light will His people shine as redeemed reflectors (Matthew 13:43). Meanwhile, the darkness that intensifies, the more needs the light: so let it shine (Philippians 2:15).

Firstly, Man in Retrospect, in Prospect and in Bold Relief, has been published during February. It sees spiritual thing in historical flow, man in crisis and the future in Biblical perspective, looking from first to last. In these things perspective is crucial for understanding, and only in biblical perspective is all explicable, logical and cohesive, including the nature of creation, human pathology, sin and its sentence, grace and its pardon, man and his nature, dismal doom and delightful destiny alike, depending on the horizon in view, and this on the Guide and takes you there, Jesus Christ.
The clarity is as sharp, the consistency as perfect, the logical validity as bright in this biblical Christian setting as is the dimness of the opposite and opposing approach, which brings the now routine discomfort and diseased irrationalities of those who grow into the post-Christian dumps, sometimes vacillating with a bipolar thumps, as bitter dreams and sullen hopes lie eviscerated on the tarmac of history, and seek vainly to arise, struggling with ever increasing anguish while ludicrous dreams arise like smoke from a burning city, glittering with ashes.
Secondly, there has been some updating on chronology, the world and life in Models and Marvels, Ch. 7 of TMR, flowing on from the last.
Thirdly, there has been updating and revision in some Chapters (such as 2, 6, 7) of A Time to Praise God, providing more detail on some aspects.

Its point is partly for education, what I found both in Melbourne University and the Presbyterian Seminary at that time, as well as for the sense of a journey, adventure, mission and finally pilgrimage for Christ. It is in this sense that it seems worth writing at all. It is given its due spiritual focus. During 2006, we reached the first decade of World Wide Web Witness, our testimony to the truth in Christ Jesus, according to the word of God, the Bible, on the Web. We praise God for His help, which has been prodigious and constant, just as He is magnificent and faithful.
We now in 2007 proceed into the next phase, so long as we are called to continue with the privilege of this labour, in the service of the immutable majesty of the living God.
For the latest New Year Word, listen to this from Zephaniah:

inviolable, founded on the One violated in life, that we might be vitiated no
more, but pardoned, impressed into the service of His kingdom.

1) MUCH more work has been done on the volume published in August and still receiving matériel and polish, Design and Deity ...
It appears it is now around 2.7 million words. It not merely shows that creation is a design phenomenon, but that there are vast reaches of cosmoi, logically arranged, superbly testable arenas of specifiable work and action, each diverse and all coherent together, organised with word and impacting in every area and arena with sophisticated wisdom. This is as far more than mere design of an object, as is the fashioning of a universe beyond the simple use of its resources for play. Chapters 2 and 7 have received much more attention this month, but not these alone.
The introductions to each of the 11 chapters are intended to provide fire for the spirit and light to the mind of man, as well as invigoration to the Christian heart. Always, what the Bible has said, and what the empirical facts have shown are in the end woven into a tartan where truth dominates and divine wisdom and vision is attested.
It is because of sin that the obvious majesty of the creation is both obscured to the flittering mind and changed by divine curse, from all-beneficent to a thing most testing! And why not test - for even gold is the better seen for it. And why be a thing, if you cannot see it, and why have it if it cannot be shown!

1. Design and Deity, Designation and Destiny has been considerably extended in its new presentations in several Chapters. Meeting the current confusion in which ludicrous imaginings are given as much attention as atomic secrets, while being as futile as nursery rhymes, this exhibits the truth of creation, design and divine action in contradistinction to all else, at length, perhaps now 2.7 million words.
2. Glory, Vainglory and Goodness Ch. 7 at the Excursion in *2 has been given a large addition of substantial interest on 'Israel' and contemporary events, aiding realisation of biblical perspective and appreciation of divine action.
This relates also to Open Door, Closed Mind and the Call of Christ Ch. 8 and the confusion of attack evidenced there. The Bible is not limited to replacement theology or to defacement theology (Ch. 8 as marked), but is far broader than either in its coverage. It is not limited by such crimping traditions, as if someone tried to put bulges into stays, with little success.
The Bible is straightforward in truth, but not simplistic in connotation. It needs STUDY! not sweeping generalisations without textual precision, far less without accuracy even in what they address, like a mine that explodes at any vibration, without any discrimination or knowing what it does. More grace is needed, and from the Lord can readily be supplied.
It is in precise and careful study, as in science, that the payloads accrue (cf. John 8:31, Psalm 119:18-20).
3. There has been some updating in TMR Ch. 7 E on the fact of the relatively young earth and its attestation.

The Shadow of a Mighty Rock has had some updating, expansion and correlation in Ch. 1, at Section E, on beginnings, rationality abd empirical testimony. To this is conjoined assessment of the obfuscatory obsession of the secular which replaces thought, but still tries in vain to think! This brings into sight some of the more recent components of this site - including analysis of Big Bang confusions, with the original trilogy, and constitutes therefore a useful reference.

Design and Deity, Designation and Destiny.
This covers around 2.6 million words and has both a compilation aspect, an extension one and an addition of new material, all topically arranged. The reality of manifest design, definitionally inescapable, in multiplied dimensions, suffuses what man is and creation likewise, is attested not merely in the physical, the mental and the spiritual, but in the realms of creation itself, the plan of salvation, power with predestination, love with purity, licence with law, eschatological and didactic phases no less. Design moreover is merely one element in this conspectus: for the rest read.
2. Ch. 7 of this volume includes a large conspectus coverage, some in question and answer format, of basics of Christian life and truth (read down from this link). Arresting developments which fit into prophetic forecast are noted.
3. Repent or Perish Ch. 7 has had a significant addition.

5. There is a discourse on design, deity, intelligence and creativity on biblical, logical lines, at Ch. 3 Appendix, in the same new volume. Like the other chapters, this specialises on perspective, biblical perspective.

As always, the word of God and the reason that God has given to man speak in the closest harmony. Perspective is sometimes necessary however in order to remove the dark glasses of cluttering and enclosing culture which seeks to blacken the obvious, distort the true and ransack rationality ... by ostensible use of reason, in a gloriously comic antilogy.

2. In the interim, a second volume has been published in May, 2007, 136. It is called:
BAY OF RETRACTABLE ISLANDS: MISSION TO THE MAINLAND.
It has an irenic purpose, tempered by the thrust for accuracy. Islands of extremism, in explaining Biblical text, have floated off the mainland, and there is need to reclaim them, or for their return, in order that the actualities of the Bible be found, not in mere moderation as such, though fidelity to the text often produces precisely that relative to the extremes, but in fidelity that does not budge for tradition, preference or desire. Fourteen islands are surveyed.
In what might be imaged as a flight over the maritime areas of the islands, we look and see on the mainland, major mountains of great beauty, and these send forth their message of strength beyond the seas. These are viewed in Chapters 20-21, all available from the hyperlink above.
3. Two of these islands have been added to the earlier Volume on Israel, at the end of it. In the "BAY...", these figure in Chs. 18-19.

Its scope ranges from startling facts about Zechariah 13 and the application to the deep penetration of the word of God, and its magnificent felicity, depth and consistent accuracy, to Church and State relationships.

Meanwhile, a large and select compendium, with interpretation and Christian Apologetic application is being prepared, its name: BAY OF RETRACTABLE ISLANDS.
Its purpose is to show 10 major areas of unnecessary division in the area of simple biblical interpretation, where traditions have entered consciously or not, and pugnacity tends to replace the irenic moderation which strict adherence to the actual text induces. When this is done, as has been done here and there of course in the past, but often episodically instead of totally, then the clarity of the word of God on the one hand, and the magnificent harmony of its holy teaching becomes yet more delightful, an attestation to its Author and source. In a way, this is like a simple careening. The evangelical Christian faith needs to be wholly unashamed, for its crown is the Lord and its cause that of His word.
As this volume is interactive internally, it seems best to wait until it is almost finished before making it available.

This includes much exposition in
Jeremiah, Hosea, Zechariah, Revelation, Hebrews, and Romans,
with applications to the
present time.
This gives significant scope for Bible Study, which has also a separate
file.
Cases of stubbornness or being suborned in mind appear, as does the divine solution.
Of particular interest is a challenge which unfortunately brought a charge in several instances, of NOT holding what we do hold! This was at least different. It is like being chided for being a sailor when you work in a mine!
This was, though egregious, good in a way, since where error occurs (and the false charges were accompanied by other error), there is more opportunity to broadcast the truth as the error is rebutted (cf. I Corinthians 11:19) and to exhibit the truth more fully. This has now been done on this site (see the files below). There is no rebuttal however for those who make challenges about what is contrary to fact, simple empirical error, such as arrived at our door: only retraction is then to the point. Indeed, in all matters concerning the Bible, accuracy is essential, and to mix factual error with any attempt to interpret the Bible is like tolerating a disease without treatment, in a hospital. It is not an option; nor can we proceed where such devices occur.
It also brings up the intriguing point that many things have more than superficial meaning, Matthew 22:32ff. being a good example. Indeed, in some cases, what is the most significant thrust is implied. This is where those having ears, are to ... hear, as Christ declaimed.

Such things make it all the more obvious how serious is the unscriptural error of saying, I am of Clark, of Calvin, of Wesley or whatever else but Christ and His word. Some of the greatest of these names have made substantial errors. It is best to be biblical and thank God for their great and valued services, while NOT naming oneself, one's church or one's faith after them (I Corinthians 3). Much mischief is done in this disobedient way, in dividing the Church. There is only one foundation which one MUST have. It needs no other support.
5) The Crack in the Tail Plane - a further chapter on Job is found in Ch. 2 of The Pride of Life, the Prince of Life and the Destiny of Man; and now it is also lodged, as here with introduction, at the end of the
